The Rumfords premiered on PAX on August 25, 2000. The show is about The Rumfords, who are just like every other all-American family. Granted, they're a tad more "animated" than the average person next door, but that's because they are! The Rumfords are brought to life in this madcap live action/animated series about a family of cartoon characters who move into a "real" life suburbia where they work and live among their very "real" live-action neighbors. The first primetime situation comedy to seamlessly integrate computer generated imagery (CGI), motion caption animation and live action, The Rumfords is a weekly, off-the-wall, half-hour series that blends the comic sensibilities of Cosby with the magic of today's cutting edge animation technology. All the Rumfords want out of life is to be accepted - just like everyone else, animated or otherwise. Is that too much for a cartoon character to ask?
